Garlic confit is a delicious way to infuse garlic with flavor by slow-cooking it in oil until it becomes soft and fragrant. Here are three different ways to make garlic confit:
Recipe 1: Basic Garlic Confit
Ingredients:

1 cup peeled garlic cloves

2 cups extra-virgin olive oil
Recipe 2: Herb-Garlic Confit
Ingredients:

1 cup peeled garlic cloves

2 cups extra-virgin olive oil

2 sprigs of fresh thyme

2 sprigs of fresh rosemary

2 sprigs of fresh oregano
Recipe 3: Lemon-Pepper Garlic Confit
Ingredients:

1 cup peeled garlic cloves

2 cups extra-virgin olive oil

1 lemon, thinly sliced

1 tablespoon black peppercorns
-
1 tablespoon of dried oregano
Instructions (same for all 3):

Place the garlic cloves, lemon slices, and peppercorns in a small saucepan or oven-safe dish.

Pour the olive oil over the garlic and other ingredients, making sure they are completely submerged.

Place the saucepan or dish over low heat or in a preheated 250°F (120°C) oven.

Cook the garlic in the oil for 45-60 minutes, or until the cloves are soft and fragrant.

Remove the garlic from the oil and let it cool.

Store the garlic and oil separately in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
