Summer Basil Citrus Simmer Pot

Ingredients:

  • Orange, sliced

  • Lemon, sliced

  • Grapefruit, sliced

  • Fresh basil leaves, 5-6

  • Fresh thyme, handful

  • Cinnamon sticks, 2

  • Whole cloves, 1 teaspoon

  • Bay leaf, 5

  • Water, 3-5 cups- replace as needed.

Instructions:

  1. Fill a medium-sized pot with 2-3 cups of water.

  2. Add the sliced orange, lemon, and lime to the pot.

  3. Add 5-6 fresh basil leaves to the pot.

  4. Add 2 cinnamon sticks, 1 teaspoon of whole cloves, and 1 bay leaf to the pot.

  5. Bring the water to a boil over high heat.

  6. Once the water comes to a boil, reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer.

  7. As the water evaporates, you can add more water to keep the simmer pot going.

  8. Allow the simmer pot to simmer for as long as you like, adding more water and fresh ingredients as needed. You can strain and drink some as tea as well.
