Strainer

Mixing bowl

Instructions:
-
Start by bringing 16 cups of water to a boil in a large pot.
-
Add 1 cup of whole cloves, 1 cup of dried peppermint leaves, and 1/2 cup of sea salt to the pot.
-
Reduce heat and let the mixture simmer for 30-45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
-
Remove the pot from heat and let the mixture cool for 10-15 minutes.
-
Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer and transfer the liquid to a mixing bowl.
-
Place a funnel into an empty bottle and carefully pour the mouthwash mixture into the bottle. Optional to add more fresh cloves to soak in at the bottom of the bottle.
-
Repeat the process with additional bottles until all of the mouthwash has been distributed.
-
Store the bottles in a cool, dry place until ready to use.
To use the mouthwash, simply take a mouthful of the solution and swish it around your mouth for 30-60 seconds, making sure to rinse thoroughly. Spit the solution out and repeat the process as needed.
This larger batch of mouthwash should last for up to a month if stored in the refrigerator between uses. Just be sure to shake the bottle well before each use, as the ingredients may separate over time.
